Prof. Sachithanandan is a clinical professor of cardiothoracic surgery at both Sunway University and the University of Malaya. He is also a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon with a special interest in lung cancer and lung cancer screening.

Under Anand’s leadership, LCNM has pioneered lung cancer screening in Malaysia, with LDCT screening, adoption of AI technology and, recently, use of ctDNA biomarkers. As co-founder and president, Prof. Sachithanandan has led LCNM to achieve several national firsts, including a digital patient and carer guide, a counselling tool for specialist doctors and clinical practice guidelines for the peri-operative management of resectable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
He is currently practising at Sunway Medical Centre and the Subang Jaya Medical Centre in greater Kuala Lumpur.
