Aziz is a PhD student at the MIT Jameel Clinic and the MIT Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence Lab, combining strengths in computational modelling and clinical AI. Under the supervision of Prof. Regina Barzilay, he develops and translates AI methods for healthcare, focusing on robust predictive modelling, transferability across clinical settings, and trustworthy deployment.
His research centres on AI-based cancer risk prediction, leveraging both imaging data and generative models to identify early disease signals and improve screening strategies.
In parallel, he works on multimodal treatment recommendation systems that integrate pathology slides, transcriptomic (RNA) profiles, and other clinical data to guide personalised therapy decisions.
Aziz has a background in mathematics, AI and management, with prior experience at HEC Paris and research in image processing and decision-rule adaptation.
