Florian Mshanga is the founder and executive director of the Feliciana Mshanga Memorial Cancer Foundation in Tanzania. His work is driven by a deeply personal mission after his mother died from cancer. This experience inspired Florian’s commitment to improving cancer care and support; he focuses on advancing cancer awareness, early detection, patient support and health system strengthening, particularly in underserved communities.

Florian has led multiple national and international collaborations aimed at improving cancer outcomes, including initiatives in patient advocacy, capacity building and policy engagement. He also serves as a member of the GI Cancers Alliance Patient & Caregiver Advisory Board, contributing to global efforts to strengthen person-centred approaches to cancer care. Florian is actively engaged in addressing disparities in cancer care, including improving awareness and access to diagnosis and treatment for lung cancer in low-resource settings.
