Giorgio Scagliotti

Professor Scagliotti is Chief of the Medical Oncology Division at the San Luigi Hospital, Turin, and former Head of the Department of Oncology at the University of Turin (2012–18). Professor Scagliotti earned his medical degree and completed his postgraduate training in Respiratory Medicine, Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology at the University of Turin.
Over the past 30 years, his research interests have included experimental studies on basic and clinical applied research on lung cancer, including translational research.
Professor Scagliotti is a member of several scientific societies, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC). From 2003 to 2007, he served as Executive Board Member of the IASLC. He also served as President of the IASLC (2017–19).
He has authored and co-authored more than 400 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He was also international editor of the fourth edition of the book Lung Cancer: Principles and Practice, and co-editor of the textbooks IASLC Multidisciplinary Approach to Thoracic Oncology (2014) and IASLC Thoracic Oncology (2017).
