Political scientist from the University of Brasília with experience in public health policy and executive training in advocacy and public policies from Fundação Getúlio Vargas. Helena has specialised knowledge in advocacy strategies, health technology assessment and the use of legislation in cancer prevention and control.
As a leader at the Oncoguia Institute for relationships with authorities and policy discussions, she works on identifying challenges and implementing initiatives to improve care for people with cancer within the health system. Projects developed by the Oncoguia Institute specifically for lung cancer cover topics such as precision medicine, access to genetic testing, implementation of screening and tobacco control. Oncoguia is a member of organisations such as the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), the Global Lung Cancer Coalition and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IALSC).
