Hidehito Horinouchi, MD, PhD is engaged in patient care and teaching in thoracic medical oncology at the Department of Thoracic Oncology, National Cancer Center Hospital, Tokyo. He also serves as the general secretary of the Japan Clinical Oncology Group (JCOG) and has contributed to the planning and implementing of many clinical trials in thoracic oncology.
He has been engaged in research concerning new drug development and multimodality treatment including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery, and immunotherapy of thoracic malignancies. He is the deputy chief of the center for education and professional career development at the National Cancer Center and has been involved in medical education supporting young oncologists.
He is actively serving as vice chair of education committee in several academic societies including the Japanese Society of Medical Oncology (JSMO), Japan Lung Cancer Society (JLCS), and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC).
