Professor Røe’s main research interests have been a combination of clinical and basic cancer research (translational), including biomarkers for early detection of cancer, predictive and prognostic biomarkers, genome-wide analysis and mechanisms of treatment resistance. He has published a number of papers on a variety of topics.
In 2010, Professor Røe worked as a visiting researcher at Nanjing Medical University. In 2013 he was appointed as a Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Oncology in Aalborg, where he researched the impact of asbestos on mesothelioma. In 2018 he was appointed as a Professor at the Department of Clinical and Molecular Research, Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
