Lung Cancer Canada
Region of the Americas
Peter Glazier is Senior Advisor, Public Affairs, Communications & Strategy at Lung Cancer Canada, the only national charity in Canada dedicated exclusively to lung cancer. In this role, he provides strategic leadership across advocacy, research, communications and organisational development, strengthening Lung Cancer Canada’s voice as a national leader in lung cancer policy. His work emphasises integrating lived experience with scientific expertise, bringing together people with cancer, carers, clinicians and researchers to drive systemic change.
A seasoned public affairs professional with over 20 years of leadership experience in government and the not-for-profit sector, Peter has advised on governance, partnerships and advocacy frameworks across the health and charitable sectors. He serves on the Steering Committee for the Pan-Canadian Lung Cancer Action Plan, collaborating with national partners to advance earlier detection, equitable access to biomarker testing and timely integration of innovation into care.
Previously, Peter held senior leadership roles with the Lung Health Foundation, where he directed the Breathing as OneResearch Campaign, spearheaded a private–public partnership on COPD, and introduced the Breathing Policy Forum, which convened thought leaders to develop actionable healthcare solutions. He also successfully led the organisation’s rebrand and the creation of its five-year strategic plan, Lung Health Starts Now!
Peter is the past Chair of Better Care Faster, a private–public healthcare coalition; a past member of BioCanRx’s Cancer Stakeholder Alliance and the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement’s Expert Advisory Committee on COPD. He currently serves as member of both the National Steering Group for Asthma Zero and a national coalition advancing access to molecular testing.
