Join the Lung Cancer Policy Network on 10 July for a webinar examining the crucial role of care pathways in delivering optimal lung cancer care.
Experts from around the world will share their insights and discuss opportunities to improve the experiences and outcomes of people with lung cancer through the development, implementation and optimisation of care pathways.
Despite compelling evidence supporting their effectiveness, formal care pathways for lung cancer have been established in just a few countries and regions. The webinar will highlight their role in improving patient experiences and outcomes, and health system efficiency; panellists will share their real-world experiences and discuss opportunities for implementation.
Leaders must identify ways to improve current practice, develop care pathways where they do not exist, and optimise these pathways accordingly. Because lung cancer care is multidisciplinary and complex, and there are many barriers to equitable care, effective pathways (regularly updated to reflect best practice) can help deliver a holistic and high-quality experience for people with lung cancer, driving improvements in outcomes and optimising the use of infrastructure and resources.
Speakers will include:
- Prof Anand Sachithanandan, Sunway and Subang Jaya Medical Centres, Malaysia
- Andrea Borondy Kitts, Rescue Lung Society, US
- Professor David Baldwin, University of Nottingham, UK
- Debra Montague, Lung Cancer Europe, Switzerland
- Professor Morten Quist, University of Copenhagen, Denmark
- Dr Zulfiquer Otty, Icon Cancer Centre, Australia
