There is plenty of evidence indicating that low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) screening saves lives. What remains unresolved is why so many people do not have access to it. Implementation is limited, progress is uneven and, crucially, the data to understand why has been disjointed and not transformed into clear policy asks.
Without accessible, comparable information on where programmes exist, how they are designed and who they reach, policymakers are navigating in the dark. Gaps go unidentified. Progress goes unmeasured. And the distance between evidence and practice stays wide.
Our work harnesses global data to change that, improving visibility of screening programmes, enabling comparison across settings and supporting more informed decision-making.
