Network reports published in five new languages

The Lung Cancer Policy Network is pleased to announce that two of our reports – Care pathways for lung cancer: building a foundation for optimal care and Increasing the earlier detection of lung cancer: a toolbox for change – are now available in Arabic, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Simplified Chinese.

Both reports, first published in 2023, were designed to help health system leaders implement effective early detection strategies and establish high-quality care pathways for lung cancer.

The earlier detection report outlines established and emerging approaches to identifying lung cancer sooner, as well as policy recommendations to guide countries and regions in developing strategies. Earlier diagnosis can increase survival rates to between 68% and 92%, compared with less than 10% when lung cancer is detected late – demonstrating just how vital early detection efforts are.

The care pathways report contains recommendations for optimising high-quality pathways for lung cancer, including ensuring multidisciplinary care; determining clear, time-defined targets for the different stages of care; and incorporating new biomarkers and targeted treatments.
