The Lung Cancer Policy Network is set to participate in several events during this year’s busy autumn conference season. We look forward to seeing our members, meeting lung cancer experts and advocates, and learning about the latest developments in research.
World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC), 6–9 September, Barcelona, Spain
The Lung Cancer Policy Network is attending the WCLC and will be hosting and participating in key events:
Saturday 6 September: The Network Secretariat will join the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) CT Screening Symposium to hear about the latest screening activities around the world.
Sunday 7 September, 15:15–16:30 CEST: The Network will host a session: ‘What do this year’s policy developments in lung cancer mean for you?’ A panel of experts will discuss policy initiatives, opportunities for involvement, and the impact of collective action at national and global levels. To attend this free event, please register your interest.

Lung cancer screening in Central and Eastern Europe, 16 September, Zagreb, Croatia
In collaboration with the Croatian National Lung Cancer Screening Program, the Network will be hosting an event bringing together screening and health system leaders from across the Central and Eastern Europe region.
The event, ‘Practical considerations and next steps for advancing lung cancer screening implementation in Central and Eastern Europe’, held on 16 September from 09:00 to 16:30 CEST, will offer practical insights from Croatia’s national experience.
Attendees will explore themes including data sharing, engagement of general practitioners, public health policy and digital innovation. This is a unique opportunity for shared learning, collaboration and networking to accelerate lung cancer screening implementation in Central and Eastern Europe.
This event is being held in person and by invitation only.
Asia Conference on Lung Cancer (ACLC), 9–11 October, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
At this year’s ACLC, we are delighted to be hosting a workshop in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Coalition Against Lung Cancer and ASPIRE for Lung Cancer. The workshop, ‘Implementing an effective screening programme for lung cancer’, will take place on 9 October from 09:45 to 11:15 ICT.

European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress, 17–21 October, Berlin
Network Secretariat representative Eleanor Wheeler will be attending this year’s Congress in Berlin. We look forward to showcasing our work on optimising the management of incidental pulmonary nodules through a poster presentation.
Rescue Lung Society Conference, 24–25 October, Boston, US
On behalf of the Network, Jessica Hooper will be attending and presenting at the annual Rescue Lung Society Conference.
On Friday 24 October from 08:15 to 10:40 EDT, Jessica will participate in a panel discussion on lung screening practices as part of the ‘CT Lung Screening Global Challenges’ session.
