Wilson & Jungner Criteria

A set of principles developed to evaluate screening programmes. They state that for screening programmes to be viable, effective and appropriate they must be able to provide early detection, there must be a suitable test for the targeted population, there must be a treatment for the disease, and the cost of screening must be economically balanced with health spending.1

Working Group

A group that brings expertise and specialist skills to a project. The group generates advice based on their knowledge base, which can be used by a steering committee to guide the project.2 See also ‘steering committee’
